Two nights reserved in your name: a Grand Haven harborfront inn stay

From, room for two$2402 nights · from $120 per personNot included: taxes, lunches, dinners and park entry.

A Grand Haven harborfront inn stay puts you beside the harbor where the Grand River meets Lake Michigan. You spend two nights at a village inn that runs its own front desk, with breakfast each morning, and you walk out to the boardwalk, the beach and the red lighthouses at the end of the South Pier.

Our office asks the inn whether it has a free room on your nights, then writes a single written quote for you to weigh at home before you decide. You pay the office nothing for this, no planning fee and no booking fee. The inn registers you at its desk, takes your payment itself and keeps its own cancellation terms.

Two red lights at the end of the pier

The lighthouse in the picture at the top stands at the end of the South Pier, where two red lights are joined by an elevated catwalk above the concrete. Grand Haven State Park beach lies at the mouth of the Grand River, and a boardwalk follows the river channel out to Lake Michigan.

Across the channel, Dewey Hill rises as a dune facing the waterfront. Downtown Washington Avenue sits a few blocks from the river, so an evening on the boardwalk and a walk into the center of town fit easily into the same day.

Breakfast at the harborfront village inn

Home for these two nights is a harborfront village inn; the picture beside this section shows a lodging of this kind. Check in happens at the inn's own front desk, and that same desk takes payment for the room. Its name reaches you in the written quote, kept off this website. The room for two for both nights at the inn's rate for the month sits inside the figure, along with breakfast each morning, as the inn serves it.

Two November nights, breakfast inside

Two harbor nights start from $240 for a room shared by two, or from $120 per person. Behind that figure sits a November 2026 rate of $119 a night, found on a public travel website, and no mandatory nightly fee is listed on top. Breakfast is included in that figure.

Taxes are extra: Michigan's 6% use tax, plus whatever room tax Ottawa County applies. Fuel, lunches, dinners, state park entry and any activities also sit outside the figure. Once the inn confirms its rate for your actual nights, that number takes the place of our November figure, and it can land higher or lower. See our pricing page for how every figure is put together.

Inside this total

  • The room for two for 2 nights at the lodging's rate for the month
  • Breakfast each morning, as the inn serves it

Left for you to pay on the road

  • Michigan's 6% use tax and any county room tax
  • Summer nights, which run far higher than November
  • Fuel, lunches and dinners
  • State park entry and activities

Boardwalk season and the winter gap

May through November is when this harbor stay makes sense to our office. December to March leaves the boardwalk and beach bare, and although the inn stays open, those winter months fall outside what we plan here. Summer nights run far higher than November, so a July request will come back with a larger number than the one shown above.

Rate, room and terms for your weekend

In the quote you will find the inn's name and the room, the rate for the weekend you asked about with breakfast inside, the taxes the inn will add and the inn's own cancellation terms. Read it, ask for another room, or walk away from it. A plain written yes from you is the only thing that holds a room; after it arrives, the office asks the inn to keep that room under your name.

About three hours west of the office

Grand Haven lies 172 road miles from our Southfield office, roughly 3 hr 11 min of driving on a computed route with no stops counted, so allow extra time for the road itself. The inn sits at 43.06 degrees north, which puts it 39 miles north of the office on a straight line rather than along the road.

Grand Haven dates for us to check

Send the month you have in mind, the number of nights and the number of adults through the request form, and tick the box if your dates can move by a week. Replies to written requests go out within four phone hours, and the quote follows for you to read.
